The value that I found from Alana’s services was immeasurable. We went through the process of discussing birth planning, labour environment and expectations, relationship awareness, and the most important part, post-partum. I learnt about setting expectations with friends and family, awareness of changing hormones and needs as a new mother. Finally, what to do to nurture your body, enhance your connection with your new baby, and suggested reading. Alana also supported me with food, supplements, self-care items, and practical care like massages, washing, cleaning, and healing ceremonies to reconnect with my post pregnancy body.

During our consultations there were thought provoking questions that helped me learn new skills. How to be gentle but assertive, and most importantly how to find my voice to communicate to health care professionals and family about my needs and expectations. I would never have considered these things if it weren’t for Alana asking me the questions and discussing these crucial points with me. The financial investment is minor compared to the knowledge and confidence you will receive in return. I cannot urge pregnant mumma’s enough to enlist her for support. Alana made my journey into motherhood enjoyable, safe, and supported. I am so thankful for her support during this time!

I would like to acknowledge the Ramindjeri, Ngarrindjeri, Kaurna, Nharangga and Barngalla nations of Karta Patingga (Kangaroo Island) as the custodians of the lands on which I live and work. I pay respect to elders both past and present.

I acknowledge and respect the cultural, spiritual, physical and emotional connection with their land, waters and community.
