The Journey Back Home to Yourself Begins Here...

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, facing life transitions or seeking deeper meaning and understanding in your life, finding support is a meaningful and important first step.

Welcome.

I'm Alana Wyldheart — a doula and counsellor devoted to supporting people through some of life’s most tender and transformative journeys.

As a doula, I’ve had the honour of walking alongside women and families since 2019. I bring a steady, nurturing presence to the childbirth journey offering unconditional support, advocating, and bearing witness. I’m passionate about women being seen and heard across the childbirth continuum, and I carry a deep devotion to reviving traditional, community-rooted postpartum care. This means nourishment, rest, and being truly held during this precious window of new life.

My approach to therapy is soul-centered. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore your inner world, connect with your emotional truth, and move toward a deeper sense of wholeness. I use an integrative approach grounded in ethical and trauma-informed practice, guided by empathy and deep listening.

Whether you're navigating inner healing, birth, or both, you are welcome here.

Let’s begin, together.

Full Moon

When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone,
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your home
tonight.

The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.

You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.

Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn

anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

Sweet Darkness / A poem by David Whyte

About Me.

I’m a mother of two, living and learning on beautiful Kangaroo Island (Karta Pintingga). My life and work are deeply rooted in nature, community, and the cycles that guide us. I’ve spent years attending and facilitating women’s circles inspired by the seasonal wheel of the year, spaces where we gather, reflect, and grow together.

I believe in the healing power of reconnecting with the Earth and finding belonging through place, rhythm, and ritual. My passion lies in reimagining rites of passage for our modern world, drawing on the wisdom of our ancestors and the strength of community. I hold space for meaningful transitions, guided by nature’s teachings and the deep knowing that we heal in connection, with ourselves, each other, and the land.

Education

2019

Certificate IV in Doula Spport Services

Australian Doula College

Nationally Accredited

I hold a government-accredited certification as a birth and postnatal doula. This comprehensive training has deepened my understanding of pregnancy, the physiology and emotional landscape of labour, birth choices, hospital systems, and the vital importance of postnatal care, breastfeeding support, and the role of the postnatal doula.

In addition to this formal training, my path has been shaped by hands-on experience. Over the years, I’ve been honoured to attend many beautiful births, witnessing the power and wisdom of birthing women. I’ve facilitated pregnancy circles and learnt traditional postpartum care practices that centre nourishment, rest, and community. These experiences continue to enrich the way I support families through the sacred transitions of birth and early parenthood

2024-2025

Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy
Ikon Institute

ACA

I’ve completed a Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy—an in-depth, multi-disciplinary program exploring the human experience through scientific, philosophical, and spiritual lenses. This training offered far more than academic learning; it deepened my capacity to understand human thought, emotion, and behaviour, and how we can meet one another with presence and compassion in times of struggle.

The course placed a strong emphasis on ethical, culturally sensitive, and collaborative practice. I gained practical tools for supporting others in designing meaningful, client-centred approaches to healing and change. A key part of the training was a supervised clinical placement, which gave me real-world experience working with clients and helped ground my learning in lived, relational work.

This training continues to inform the way I hold space—honouring each person’s unique story, and supporting them with care, curiosity, and respect.

2025

Certificate: Basic Skills in Perinatal Mental Health

Centre of Perinatal Excellence

I’ve completed training in perinatal mental health screening in line with the 2023 National Perinatal Mental Health Guideline. This training enhanced my knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support women through conversations around mental health,  bridge the gap between physical and mental health care and provide informed and compassionate postnatal support.
